About The Bridge

Established 1965, Palatine, IL

Where we started

In 1965, a small group of community members in Palatine, IL came together with a simple belief: young people deserve support, not just services. That belief led to the creation of the Palatine Township Youth Committee, born from a growing need in the community to offer youth in crisis more than good intentions. They needed a safe place to turn, people who would listen, and steady support when life became difficult.

Over time, the organization grew alongside the community it served. Youth began calling it The Bridge, a name that reflected what it had become for them, a place that helped them move from where they were to where they wanted to be. Today, The Bridge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering counseling, family stabilization, juvenile justice support, mentoring, and family services across the greater community, with caring licensed professionals and trained staff who believe in every young person and family’s ability to heal, grow, and thrive.

Supporting Youth, Strengthening Families

Our mission is to provide services to support youth and families in creating emotional wellness, strong relationships, and successful futures. We envision a world where healthy relationships and emotional wellness are priorities for all and every individual has been given the tools to thrive.

Who we serve

The Bridge provides services for youth ages 0–21 and their families throughout the Palatine, Barrington, Maine, Elk Grove, Schaumburg, and Hanover Township communities, helping connect individuals and families with the support they need to thrive.

Our Partners

The Bridge exists because communities show up for their young people. The Bridge is the path that heals because donors give, volunteers commit, families ask for help, and partners refer, and the community supports.
