Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with The Bridge! The Bridge welcomes volunteers in a variety of roles, including activities that directly support our employees, leadership positions, and client services. We believe in creating opportunities for the community to participate in, offer feedback and endorse our work. By volunteering with The Bridge, you are helping Palatine-area kids and families achieve social and emotional health.
Bridge Buddies
The Bridge aims to enhance educational outcomes by offering support to students during the school day. This program targets elementary students who struggle with focus in class, have difficulties making friends, or require additional emotional support. Each student will be paired with a mentor who will visit them during the lunch hour.
Mentors must be at least 21 years old, pass a background check, and complete required training before beginning their role. Additionally, The Bridge organizes volunteer meetings every other month to support your mentoring efforts.
Teen Mentor
The Bridge’s “Beyond the Bridge” program provides a mentoring opportunity for youth in our community ages 12-18 by matching the youth with caring adults who are interested in making positive impacts in the lives of the adolescents and teens.
The Bridge is currently looking for volunteer mentors to help us extend opportunities all youth who need us! As a mentor, you will be supporting youth from ages 12-18 with their goals to help them succeed. You will truly make a difference in someone’s life. Mentors will be matched with a youth for 12-18 months and will meet with them for up to 2 hours per week.
Executive Board
The Bridge is actively looking for Board members for our Executive Board. We are a historic community organization serving Palatine, IL, and surrounding communities. If you are passionate about the mental health and wellness of children, adolescents and families, The Bridge is the perfect space for you to engage with other like-minded individuals dedicated to therapeutic interventions at the individual, family, and community level.
