Giving Tuesday 2024
Mental Health & Crisis In The Classroom
Since the pandemic, there has been a rise in mental health diagnoses and crisis situations in youth and teens.
- 70,000 classroom education minutes were lost to emotional dysregulation and behavioral disruption in local classrooms between August 2022 – February 2024.
- 31.0% of 8th graders reported that during the last school year they had felt so sad or hopeless almost every day for two weeks or more in a row and stopped them from doing usual activities.
- 2,000 students were in need of and received support in mentoring, behavior intervention planning, social emotional plans with mental health providers, and wraparound.
Here at The Bridge, we provide services to support youth and families in creating emotional wellness, strong relationships, and successful futures. We work with police and education partners to offer services and programs in counseling, therapy, family stabilization, juvenile justice, and mentoring. This Giving Tuesday we are looking to spread awareness to help guide our youth and families in our community.
