Erica’s Story

The Bridge Counseling Program

Erica, a 17-year-old student, came to therapy during a difficult time marked by mood swings, depression, and frequent conflicts at school.

After a conflict with another teammate on her volleyball team, she was temporarily suspended from the team. The coach suggested the parents reach out to The Bridge to seek further counseling to prevent further consequences and get her back on track.

Over the course of a year, with the steady support from her counselor at The Bridge and a safe space to grow, Erica worked hard to build emotional awareness, learn healthier ways to cope, and reconnect with the people and activities that mattered.

With the help of evidence-based strategies and a strong therapeutic relationship, Erica gradually regained confidence, stabilized their mood, and found new ways to express themselves without conflict.

By the end of treatment, Erica was not only thriving in school again but also showing a renewed sense of hope and connection, reminding us of the real impact that compassionate, consistent care can have.
